The "Caganer" to BBC

Probably, only catalan people know the mean of this word: "Caganer", but what happens if we explain to another people the mean of this word?:

In this video we can see Stephen Fry is explaining in BBC some customs of Catalonia, and the most spectacular is the faces of the players.

We know that "caganer" isn't the only character typical of the Catalan Christmas that defecate. There is another tradition, a tree trunk that children choose and that led to dining room. It is covered by a blanket because it hasn't got cold and the guys must to feed until Christmas Day, when children have to sing typical's Catalonia songs, and they must to give blows with a stick because "cagatió" give presents to children.

I think that it is one common tradition here, but in the other countries it is a very strange custom, but it isn't the most strange, because in other sites in the world we can see traditions more strange that it; for example in Jamaica, the people bury dead people into the garden of this house and it becomes to a party to say goodbye, and it's prohibited to mourn.

La Pegatina

La Pegatina is a Catalan rumba group from Montcada i Reixac who was born in 2003 when Ruben (who plays alone) will be added to Ovid and Adrian to begin a new project called "Pegatina Sound System."

When it was created they began to crossing Spain and playing at festivals and concerts. In 2006, they changed the name of the group, and they, nowadays, are called "La pegatina" (the sticker). After recording several songs for the compilation, they recorded their first album called "Al carrer!". With this CD and an intensive work, the group increased with four members and then they did a lot of concerts around the world. In Febraury 2009, they have showed a new CD called "Via Mandarina", and for this reason they don't stop, because they are singing for this country, and later they will go outside.

The most important of this group are the members, who are: Rubén Sierra and Adrià Salas, the singers and guitarist, Ovidi Díaz, that plays the called "cajon flamenco", Ferran Ibañez who plays the bass guitar, Axel Magnani, who is the trumpeter, Romain Renard that plays the accordion, and finally, Sergi who is the drummer.

For me, my favourites song are: "El gat rumbero", "Mandarinas y Pomelos", "¿Cómo explicarte?",... for this reason, now I put here a video-song of this great group:
